BACKGROUND OF THE PROGRAMME

An Alumni Meet is organized to celebrate and refresh old relationships and form new ones. It is an occasion when students gather at their Alma Mater, reminisce about the past, and look forward to new interactions with new hopes. During these meets, alumni share their experiences in the outside world and the impact of their alma mater on their lives.

FIRST ALUMNI MEET - January 28, 2023

Sarala Birla University organized its first Alumni Meet at the amphitheater on January 28, 2023. The event commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony followed by the University Kulgeet. Dignitaries included:

• Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Gopal Pathak
• Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Associate Dean DSW & Dean of the faculty of Commerce & Management
• Dr. Ashok Kumar Asthana, Dean Students Welfare (DSW) and Convenor of the event
• Prof. Rahul Vats, Controller of Examination and Alumni Head, SBU

The event was attended by alumni and university staff, including Mr. Ajay Kumar, Manager P&A, Mr. Praveen Kumar, and other Deans, Associate Deans, and Faculty Members.

Felicitation Process:

Dr. Nitu Singhi facilitated the felicitation process:

• Dr. Sandeep Kumar presented a memento to Hon’ble VC, Dr. Gopal Pathak
• Dr. Manoj Kumar presented a memento to Dr. Ashok Kumar Asthana
• Dr. Jeeva Chithambram presented a memento to Mr. Rahul Vats

The program was hosted by Vriti and Simarpreet, students of BA English and B.Com fifth semester respectively.

Welcome Address:

Dr. Ashok Kumar Asthana, Dean Students Welfare and Convenor of the event, delivered the welcome address. He highlighted the growth of the University and thanked the alumni for their valuable time.

Cultural Program:

The current students of the university performed a cultural program, including solo and group dances, music, yoga demonstration, poem recitation, and a band performance.

Vice Chancellor's Address:

Prof. Gopal Pathak emphasized the importance of alumni in shaping the university's character. He shared examples of successful alumni and urged alumni to stay connected with their alma mater.

Alumni Experiences:

Various alumni shared their experiences:

• Purvi Singh, former BBA student, reminisced about her learning journey and career development.
• DeepRaj Bhandari, former BBA CM student, appreciated the growth of the program and job opportunities.
• Dimple Singhania, former MBA student, thanked the personality development team for their support.
• Anjana Singh, former yoga student, highlighted the modern facilities in the yoga department.
• Other alumni like Vivek Thakur, Kumari Ankush Chandel, Ayushi, Akash Verma, etc., also shared their experiences.

Student Achievements:

Student achievements were showcased, including Pakhi Sinha's book publication titled “Pakhi Poetries be Like” available online.

Vote of Thanks:

Nafisa Naaz, a student of BA English, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the audience and committee members.
